Hand

In the classic 5 Card Draw poker game these are the cards a player actually holds in his hands. In Texas Hold'Em a Hand denotes the 5 cards made up of the 2 Hole Cards and the 5 Community Cards that form the best card combination for a player.

Heads-Up

Either a poker game that is being played by 2 players or - at tables with more players - the last two players who are competing over a Pot.

Hearts

One of the four colours Clubs, Diamonds, Hearts and Spades.

High Card

If a player doesn't even manage to get a Pair his highest card determines the value of his hand. This is the High Card.

High Limit

Unlike in Low Limit games people play for high Stakes here.

High-Low

A poker variant that sees the player with the best hand win half of the Pot while the player with the worst hand wins the other half.

Hold\'Em

Short version for Texas Hold'Em for people who don't have enough time to write or say the whole thing.

Hole Cards

Hole Cards are face-down cards that are only known to the player. At Texas Hold'Em each player has 2 Hole Cards, at Omaha there are 4. They are also known as Down Cards or Pocket Cards.

House Fee

Most poker tournaments require a Buy-In and an additional House Fee (or simply Fee), which will go directly to the organiser of the tournament. In online Cash Games there will usually by a House Fee per played hand. It will be deducted from each Pot and is usually asmall percentage of that Pot. Another, more common term for it in Cash Games, is Rake. It is also common procedure to have a maximum limit for that Rake, usually an amount of $3-$5.
