Main Pot

If a player with a smaller chip stack than the remaining players goes All-In, the other players will be able to go on betting with each other. In that case the Pot will be divided into a Main Pot and a Side Pot. The Main Pot is made up of the chips up to the All-In by the player with the smallest chip stack while the Side Pot contains the chips that are being used by the remaining players after that.

Maniac

A very aggressiv player who likes to put pressure on his opponents by making lots of Raises and often relying on Bluffs. A classic Maniac is a bad player because he will trust too much on bullying other players and rely on his Bluffs to work. A player who can play like a Maniac for a certain time and then change his play again is however a very dangerous opponent because you can hardly tell his next move.

Meet

Middle Pair

If you can form a Pair with one of your Hole Cards and the card of the Flop that is neither the high nor the low card. For example: Your Pocket Cards consist of K8 and the Flop shows Q84 - you now hold 88, the Middle Pair. While better than nothing this can be dangerous for players new to poker as they tend to overplay this hand. Another expression used is Second Pair. Also see Bottom Pair and Top Pair.

Middle Position

The Middle Positions are situated between the Early Positions and Late Positions. At a typical table of 10 players these would be the positions 6-8.

Muck

If you win a hand due to all the opponents dropping out you can decide to put your cards back into the deck with their faces down. Same goes for the situation where someone before you shows a hand that you cannot beat with your hand. This is called a Muck. You may also decide to show one or both cards if you prefer. However most players decided to Muck in order to keep the other players guessing. Muck also denotes the pack of cards made up of all the folded cards of players in the course of a hand.
